40 West Arts is a state-certified Colorado Creative District located along historic West Colfax Avenue in Lakewood. They work to support and promote Lakewood’s West Colfax as a vibrant arts, cultural & economic destination through community art spaces and events, and by supporting creative activities and endeavors. When locals and visitors alike are looking for interesting things to do in Denver, we’d like Lakewood’s 40 Arts West creative district to be at the front of their minds.
The West Colfax Community Association (WCCA) is a coalition of citizens, business owners, community leaders, and local organizations working together to foster and sustain an engaged community and the economic vitality of the West Colfax corridor. WCCA exists to serve the West Colfax Community – its businesses, residents, and partner organizations – by providing reliable community information, a forum for community dialogue, and a unified voice for community advocacy to help support the quality of life and economic vibrancy of the corridor.
The Chicano Humanities Arts Council is Colorado’s oldest Latinx nonprofit art organization. CHAC Gallery and Cultural Center was founded in 1978. Today CHAC continues to be an inclusive community of all creatives who endeavor to showcase, preserve, and educate the Rocky Mountain regional arts community through educational outreach, exhibitions, special events, and artistic mentoring about the diverse Latinx, Chicana/o, and other multicultural communities who call Colorado home.
The Colorado Folk Arts Council is one of the oldest multicultural organizations in the state of Colorado. Their mission is to encourage the preservation of ethnic cultural arts, history, and traditions through educational workshops, youth team building, public performances, and community projects. They are a resource for ethnic and cultural folk art and traditions maintained by their communities in the Denver metropolitan area and in Colorado.
